    Question

Hey, I'm getting ready to film my short film, and I have a huge question. I have a crappy Home Video camera ((about Blair Witch/Your first birthday quality)), is there any way to make my finished product look better? I don't want it to just look like some teens with their dad's camera, ya know? Any suggestions?

    hey bro tapatio here again.
if you use a regular camera the fist thing is to remeber to use a tri-pod if you don't have one stand it on a broom stick. next, find a wheelchair so some one can move you around.
last think hard and long on your storyboard and think of crazy angles since its a horror movie, one good trick is lying on a skate board and film from down to up. it will make it look creepy.

I have the same problem and my thinking is to shoot on a shit camera and try to fix it a little in post production. So my advice is use the camera(hopefully its got some manual functions) then try and capture it into the computer and use premiere or similar and put a film effect filter through it and make a copy back onto vhs.
    good luck

    Preparation.
So long as the scenes are well lit, well staged, the camera steady, and they are cut together well, then it'll look more like a film than a home movie.

    Lightbulb

I have a color processor that I can hook my camera up to. It sharpens the image and makes it look almost professional. But light is one of the most important things for the shot to look good. I've also heard that pancake makeup (lots of heavy stuff caked on) makes for a sharper image.
